מאמר יגלה לן טעמי׳

Kitzur:

This maamar explains one of the first phrases in the Shabbos day zemiros of Asader L’seudasa, where we ask Hashem to reveal to us the meaning behind the 12 loaves of bread which correspond to the letter of Hashem’s name which is “Kefila Uklisha.”

The Alter Rebbe explains in this unique maamar the Ruchnius significance of eating on a weekday, eating on Shabbos, and eating on Yom Tov; and the superiority of eating on Shabbos.

Based on that, the Alter Rebbe explains how this line is teaching us that eating on Shabbos is like the 12 loaves of the Lechem Hapanim. These in turn are connected to the letters of Hashem’s name Yud and Kay, which come down nowadays in a way of Kefila (the Hey of Hashem’s name, which comes down in a secondary form) and Kelisha (the Yud of Hashem’s name which comes down as is, but in a weaker way, through a Tzimtzum).

We ask Hashem to reveal to us the secret which is hidden in these two letters of Hashem’s name, which will be revealed L’asid Lavo when this Hamshacha of Shabbos will come not in a hidden way (Kefila U’klisha) but in a fully revealed way.

Part 1:

Part 2:

This maamar was said by the Alter Rebbe in Parshas Tetzaveh in the year תקס״ז.

We have the Mitteler Rebbe’s hanacha of this maamar printed in the Siddur Im Dach in the section of Seudas Shabbos. The explanations are much more elaborate there, in the style of the Mitteler Rebbe, especially the concepts of Kefila Uklisha, which are a little more cryptic in the maamar as printed in Torah Ohr.

These concepts are also brought by the Tzemach Tzedek in Derech Mitzvosecha, in Mitzvas Achilas Kodshei Kodoshim. There the Tzemach Tzedek says he heard about the inyan of eating on Shabbos from the Alter Rebbe in Kfar Piyena in תקע״ג, a few days before the Alter Rebbe’s histalkus.
